Barber Program

In the Barber Program you will learn the practice of barbering, ranging from industry and business skills to honing your craft so that you may carve your path in this vibrant industry!

Course Overview

The Barber Program will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the Barber Industry and the skills and training necessary to achieve your license and succeed in your craft. You will learn:
  • Hair Cutting & Styling
  • Beard Grooming & Shaving
  • Scalp & Skin Care
  • Sanitation & Safety
  • Customer Service
  • Business & Marketing
You will acquire skills in haircutting, hair styling, tapering, trimming of the beard and mustaches, men’s hairpieces, scalp treatments, facials, shampooing, shop management and state licensing laws.

BARB. 101 – Orientation to Barbering, Life Skills and General Science (270 Hours)

BARB. 102 – Properties and Disorders of the Hair and Scalp, Basics of Chemistry and Shampooing (135 hours)

BARB. 103 – Haircutting (135 hours)

BARB. 104 – Haircoloring(60 hours)

BARB. 105 – Chemical Texturizing(30 hours)

BARB. 106 – Shaving and Facial Hair Design (45 hours)

BARB. 107 – Business Skills, Florida Laws and Licensure (225 hours)

TOTAL THEORY HOURS: 680

TOTAL HOURS: 900


Schedule & Completion Time

The Barber Program may be completed in approximately 8 months by a full-time student and 11 months by a part-time student. Completion time will depend on your attendance.

Full-Time Day: Monday – Friday from 9am-3pm.
Part-Time Day: Monday – Friday from 1:30pm-5pm.
Part-Time Evening: Monday – Friday from 6pm-10pm.
