How Will I Learn It

The Cosmetology Program consists of 1230 hours, of which 610 are allocated for student services. The first half of the program is spent in the classroom where you learn through instructor led theory lectures, interactive exercises and demonstrations, instructor guided hands on training and through special events and workshops. The second half is dedicated to applying your acquired skills on the public in the instructor supervised salon and intensively reviewing for the state board exam. Here we will work together with you to conquer any insecurity you may have on the floor or review any course material you may need additional assistance on.

Upon completing all theory and service hours and satisfactorily passing the final exams, you will receive a diploma and will be prepared to apply for the Florida state board examination. Course Content is as follows:

COSM101 – Orientation and Professional Development, HIV (8 hrs.)

COSM102 – Florida Laws (15 hrs.)

COSM103 – Salon Ecology (20 hrs.)

COSM104 – Basics of Chemistry (10 hrs.)

COSM105 – Scalp Care, Shampooing and Conditioning (57 hrs.)

COSM106 – Hair Additions and Wigs (378 hrs.)

COSM107 – Haircutting (352 hrs.)

COSM108 – Chemical Texturizing (132 hrs.)

COSM109 – Hair Coloring (130 hrs.)

COSM110 – The Study of the Skin, Anatomy (72 hrs.)

COSM111 – The Study of the Nail (42 hrs.)

COSM112 – Electricity, Salon Business (14 hrs.)

TOTAL HOURS – (1230 hrs.)

Schedule & Completion Time

The Cosmetology Program may be completed in approximately 9 months by a full time student and 15 months by a part time student. Completion time will depend on your actual attendance.

There are two schedules available for full time students:

A* (40 hrs/wk) Tue – Sat 9 am – 5 pm
B (40 hrs/wk) Tue – Fri, Sat 2 pm – 10 pm,
9 am – 5 pm

*Level 1 Students at the Hialeah Campus will attend class Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Part time students may choose to attend school from:
